The fourth of six illustrations I did for the second round of the Inception Big Bang. This year, I illustrated for sho_no_tabi's story Autumn Road, a story ostensibly about Arthur and Eames' life together after Inception, but also a story about falling in and out of love, growing old together, losing the people you love and moving on, and the ambiguous nature of reality versus dreaming. It's a beautiful tale, and well worth the read.
This is a simple image, and it's really effective for that. Absolutely adore the long shadows -- a perfect example of what I mean when I say "shadows can help bridge compositional challenges that no physical object can sensibly."
